Independence Day weekend was EXCELLENT! We had another BBQ but this one was a condo building BBQ, not a Halfway BBQ and it was really kewl to have all the neighbors converge on my patio :) Everybody brought something (meat, liquor,...a grill) and we enjoyed the fireworks show across the street. Even Airbo stopped by! Erik & I also hit my dad's where we celebrated by blowing up a little of our country ourselves. Sol the fish met his untimely demise but we put his body to rest in the pond at the forest preserve. We just wrapped up watching 'Be Kind, Rewind' & 'Metropolis' with Laura. I did NOT like 'Be Kind, Rewind' at all. It wasn't terrible, it was just not good- if that makes any sense at all.

Back to learning.
And updating.
Erik's & my anniversary consisted of going to eat at the previously mentioned "Joey's Brickhouse" (Go there.), buying a purple Betta to commemorate the ones at our wedding (Bettas have a short lifespan, normally 1-2 years according to the information I found on them, so it will be a nice tradition to give a Betta a happy home every to every other year depending on its individual lifespan.), and planting the purple Petunias for the summer in our flower boxes at the condo (YaY purple & green wedding colors! Also, even though our 'wedding flower' was orchids, I plant Petunias at the condo in remembrance of my great-grandmother, Ma. She used to plant white Petunias in the flower box in front of her home every year when she was alive.)
By the way, our first Betta was named Sol. (Italian for 'sun'[Sole] and also short for Solstice). We set him up in our bedroom.
In addition to that we did a beach day where Erik lovingly dug a hole upon my demand to show me the water line on North Beach. The hole then became a pit under a bridge, which lead to a Stegosaurus Space Sand Car being driven by a Popsicle stickman whose face was drawn in using found burnt wood & who was manning a cannon made of a stick and two stones. The Stegosaurus's spikes came from the pointed container from my Screwball ice treat that we ran to the Ice Cream man for (also to commemorate our wedding *grin*) I also started scrapbooking our wedding stuff, which means our hallway is no longer a card based death trap & you people are that much closer to receiving your 'Janes-Anderson Wedding Experience Box Set'.
YES!
In other news, Big Dog Eat Child had their monthly show at the Lakeshore Theater.

This month featured Backdoor Aly as their burlesque dancer but my fav is still Dizzy Lizzy Delicious from the May show. That hula hoop act is AWESOME. Not sure who they have for their July show, but Natasha Minx would be an awesome third dancer. Needless to day, I've developed an interest in Burlesque Dance. I think Su is taking a couple of classes and it would be awesome to add to my repertoire of Pole Dancing & Belly Dancing. If can master all three in the end, I'll be satisfied. Add Swing & classic Ballroom to that mix & I'll die a happy woman :P
Much love to all in my life!

Ok, so I lied about getting around to the continued details of roadtripping to Pennsylvania with Erik. I'm sure you'll all live despite my laziness.
Current travel plans?
Wisconsin (client trip to the Dells) & Missouri (again) in July.
Oklahoma & Wisconsin (client trip again, but Northwoods this time) in August.
Tennessee? But no definite date yet.
September is Kristin's wedding.
October is Erik's birthday & probably Hollywood/LA again.
November is my birthday.
and that brings us round to December, aka- the end of the year.
Get yer schedule requests in now people!
Hearts 'n Farts *grin*
Much love to all in my life <3

Drove to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri with Erik for Kevin's graduation.
Got there just in time to change clothes and park to go into the ceremony location.
Yelled "Snuffy, HOOAH!" when he was announced.
Went out to eat together.
Went bowling together.
Went to see the new Terminator movie together (only ok in my opinion)
Finally showered (not with Kevin)
Joined him to eat pizza.
Day Pass for Kevin = over at 9pm
Hug Kevin extremely tightly.
Find out when he graduates AIT (possibly the last week of July)
Plan for next trip to Missouri.

ROADTRIP!!!!!
Yeah, you all know what I sound like when I yell that *grin*
12 hours straight through to Pennsylvania done my favorite way, although apparently Erik has more class than me.
Boo.
*gives spite-y eye to Erik*
My plan? Drive straight through stopping only for gas and to pee while at aforementioned gas station.
Erik's plan? Drive to the first freakin' rest area for expensive coffee and pastries, call me a hobo for eating out of a can, and not pack shampoo because "what kind of a hotel doesn't have free shampoo?".
A Motel 6, my high maintenance love, LoL. Lesson learned?
Details to follow first chance I get to make a real post :)

15 Things I HATE but everyone else LOVES survey [04 Mar 2009|12:56pm]
[ mood | silly ]
[ music | Lady GaGa- "Poker Face" ]

Everyone does 'Favorites', how about some 'These things totally fucking suck' >:)

1. FOOD – Red candy, of any kind (red Skittles, red Jolly Ranchers, red Starburst, they all equal YUCK to me)

2. DRINK – Energy drinks, like Monster or Red Bull

3. BAND/MUSIC GROUP/SINGER/RAPPER- Bands like Maroon 5

4. SEASON – Sorry but I have to admit I don't hate any seasons

5. SPORT – WWE

6. MOVIE – MOST Disney movies

7. ACTOR – Nicholas Cage

8. ACTRESS – I need to think about this one

9. TV SHOW – Sitcoms in general

10. BOOK – The Little Prince. I don't hate it but I just don't think it was that noteworthy

11. CAR – Any car from the 80s

12. HOLIDAY – Colombus Day. Can we stop celebrating this yet?!

13. WEATHER – Cold without snow

14. COLOR - Gold

15. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY – Barhopping. If there's not a band playing, unique story/scenery, dancing or food then we can all just go back to MY house and I will MAKE you a drink for MUCH less money and we can all HEAR each other talk.

From Russ [27 Feb 2009|10:26pm]

[ music | I admit to rocking out to Panama in the car on the ride home tonight ]

Think of 15 albums that had such a profound effect on you they changed your life or the way you looked at it. They sucked you in and took you over for days, weeks, months, years.... These are the albums that you can use to identify time, places, people, emotions....
These are the albums that, no matter what they were thought of, musically shaped your world.
The challenge? Do this in FIFTEEN MINUTES- as if nobody is judging your answers...
They do NOT have to be in any kind of order, just type as they come to mind.
Now make sure you copy and paste this part so everyone knows the drill.
Get the idea now? Good. Tag, you're it!

1. Metallica- Metallica aka The Black Album
2. Nirvana- In Utero
3. Tool- Aenima
4. Pearl Jam- Ten
